My primary objective this week was to collect insights from the session I had missed. The Conversation Lead admitted to being nervous, yet he had prepared beforehand to ensure a the session. The Logistics Lead was highly encouraging, telling me that several new colleagues had joined the group.
For this session, we selected a trending topic: Movies and Series, using the recent Oscars buzz. We were joined by two new colleagues although they were not yet confident enough to participate actively, they mentioned afterward that they could follow the conversation perfectly.
The highlight, however, was The Logistics Lead’s initiative: he prepared cards with random questions for participants to select. His attention to detail showed me a fundamental need that I hadn’t realized; I think when people feel a sense of ownership, they also feel responsibility.
Word of the Week:
To Practice Beforehand: To perform an activity or exercise regularly in order to improve or maintain one’s proficiency before a specific event. Usage: “The lead was nervous, but he practiced beforehand to make the session a success.”
